Justifiably described as the world’s rarest tonewood, this near fossilised ancient timber reveals a dark, silky hue and subtle figure. The astoundingly rich tone is comparable with any premium tropical hardwood. Radio carbon dating confirms it is over 5,000 years old.
und über Sinker Redwood:
Redwood is typically stiffer than Cedar but not quite as stiff as Sitka (although there can be exceptions) so it’s an ideal soundboard if you like a warmer tone but want the option to play a bit more aggessively, it gives you that extra headroom.
In dieser Kombination entsteht eine sehr schöne Balance zwischen einem warmen Grundton und feinen Obertönen - die Dynamik lässt Fingerstyle und Flatpicking zu. Ich würde den Grundton von Bog Oak nicht mit "normaler" Eiche vergleichen. Die Zellstruktur hat sich duch die 5000 Jahre im Moor entscheidend verändert. Eine wunderschönes Instrument - mit einem "dreidimensionalen" Ton. ... der durch das K&K Trinity Tonabnehmersystem sehr natürlich übertragen wird.
