Das sagt Dana: All Mahogany guitars have a long history in the flattop world. First introduced as inexpensive student guitars in the same shapes as their spruce-topped brethren, it wasn't long before folks began to enjoy the signature tone that a hardwood topped guitar can bring.
Our mahogany topped guitars have the advantage of being individually voiced with Dana's tap-tuning process. This really brings to the fold a response not often found in these dark-topped beauties. By tuning the tops, we are able to get more overtones and response than you'd usually find, while simultaneously retaining the very direct, sugar-sweet tone that the very best vintage 'hog tops are known for. This is no lesser cousin to a spruce-topped guitar; All Mahogany guitars stand proudly on their own!
dana bourgeois | double O-12 fret "coupe" - ind. rosewood / aged tone adirondack
Preis: 5.562 Euro
Das sagt Dana: The 00 has a voice all its own, warm but with a surprisingly punchy, direct sound. We think of it as the ultimate "couch potato guitar": Super comfortable to play, it's the one you'll keep nearby and gab whenever the urge strikes to croon Beatles songs, shred blues licks, or write a song. Take one to a jam and you may be surprised that you're not only heard but also listened to.
Aged Tone Tops
The process used to cure our Adirondack tops is a highly controlled, low-temperature variation of the basic commercial treatment. During processing, water, sugars, and resins are cooked off, leaving behind cellulose and lignum–the “glue” that binds cellulosic fibers together. Once processed, mass and weight are reduced, absolute stiffness is increased and internal damping is decreased; stiffness-to-weight ratio and Velocity of Sound (the rate at which vibration transmits through solid material) are dramatically increased.
dana bourgeois | "J-OM" mahogany
Preis: 5.990 Euro
The Jumbo OM, or JOM, is an original body style developed by Dana in the late 80's, in response to players' requests for a mid-sized guitar with the balance and clarity of an OM but with a bigger presence. The idea was simple: Start with the OM outline, enlarge it a bit, play around with the curves and deepen the sides. The result is a wonderfully versatile guitar; larger than an OM, smaller than a Dreadnought, capable of handling almost any playing style you can imagine, and equally capable of operating in solo or ensemble situations.
dana bourgeois | "generation-OM"
Preis: - verkauft / sold -
A no-nonsense, no frills, worldclass guitar just as ready for the stage as it is the couch. As usual with Dana, the little touches go a long way and reflect some serious thought on his part as far as what the average player is going to appreciate. That satin finish keeps both weight and cost down, the decision to torrefy the Sitka lends a great look and even better sound to the instrument, and the overall appointments and pre-installed L.R. Baggs Lyric just make this one a no-brainer.
dana bourgeois | model "OM SC - vintage" indian rosewood
Preis: 5.867 Euro - verkauft / sold -

dana bourgeois | dreadnought "large soundhole" - beeswing mahogany / aged tone adirondack
Preis: - verkauft / sold -
Das sagt Dana: Our most popular model, the square shoulder pre-War style Dreadnought delivers ample power to cut through any performance situation. Featuring Dana's unique, single-scalloped X brace system, our Dreadnought has become a bluegrass classic, offering a blend of balance and clarity absolutely required for flatpicking, highly desirable for most other styles of playing, but rarely found in a contemporary dreadnought.

dana bourgeois | "OMS-vintage" pao rosewood
Preis: 5.990 Euro - verkauft / sold -
Balance, power and full, piano-like sound; our richest-sounding guitar.
We think of the OMS as the 12 fret version of the OM, as opposed to the other way around. It boasts all the tonal properties of our OM, with the added power and fullness of a 12 Fret. The 12 Fret design places the soundhole closer to the waist of the guitar and locates the bridge at the widest part of the lower bout, where it can most efficiently drive the top. This throwback design allows maximum power with minimum playing effort, while affording a loose, open quality to the sound

dana bourgeois | om "custom vintage" - cocobolo / aged tone adirondack
Preis: 5.990 Euro (2nd hand) - VERKAUFT / SOLD -
Das sagt Dana: Because of its characteristic superb balance, clarity of voice, and sustaining top register, the OM is often thought of as the quintessential fingerstyle guitar. It's not surprising, though, that more than a few players appreciate these same characteristics not only for flatpicking but also for a variety of other applications. We scallop both sides of the X brace on our OM. This provides the” looseness” required in a smaller guitar to produce a clear, strong bass response, and power and projection that belies its size.
Cocobolo
A dense, stiff tropical hardwood from Mexico, cocobolo produces a fairly bright overall tone emphasized by sparkling treble notes. Sonically it resembles koa but resonates a little deeper on the low end. The tone is fast, responsive, and articulate.

dana bourgeois | om "limited 1 of 5" madagascar rosewood / torrefied adirondack
Preis: 9.490 Euro - verkauft / sold
Das sagt Dana: Bourgeois Guitars is proud introduce the 2018 Vintage Deluxe Limited Edition
An exclusive five piece collection featuring Madagascar Rosewood, Aged Tone Adirondack Spruce and added emphasis on pre-war details.
These guitars represent a pinnacle of innovation within the vintage inspired cannon and include a Deluxe Limited Edition hard shell case.
“Throughout my career I’ve focused on the sound of pre-war guitars, and after years of development the gap continues to close. We thought it would be fun to combine these efforts with a show of reverence for the appearance of our 1930’s inspirations. The Vintage Deluxe Limited Edition is designed to elicit the sound, look and feel of ‘oldies but goodies’, with understated contemporary approachability and a pinch of attitude.” -Dana Bourgeois
